Wildlife Tour

Day 1 Arrival into Havana. Staying overnight Ambos Mundos, a beautiful hotel with a fantastic roof garden restaurant, with a lovely spot for lunch with great views.
Day 2 Collected from the Ambos Mundos Hotel and taken by road transfer westwards to the Vinales Valley staying at Los Jazmines for 2 nights. Los Jazmines has some of the most breathtaking views of the Vinales Valley, amazing “Jurassic Park” scenery an area lost in time.

The area is the centre of the tobacco region, and the tobacco season is from late October to April. The farmers at most of the plantations would be pleased to show you round their farms, to see the tobacco drying barns. In Pinar Del Rio there is a cigar factory which you could.

Cuevas Del Indio (Caves of the Indians) is a large cave about 10 minutes drive from Vinales. You can walk through the cave and about half way in it opens up to an underground river, where you will find a boatman with his flat bottom boat. He will take you through to the other side where there is a small bar. Another cave set on the other side of Vinales on the “main road” has a long bar built into it, again you can walk through the cave and on the other side is an amazing restaurant area which specialises in pork and chicken well worth a visit.

Day 4 Collected from Los Jazmines and driven to the north coast of Pinar del Rio, the drop off point is Palma Rubia where you catch the morning ferry (there is another ferry at 4pm) for a 20 minute crossing to the idyllic island of Cayo Levisa.

Cayo Levisa is one of a cluster of islands enveloped by thick jungles of tropical mangrove and boarded by fabulous white beaches. There are only 20 cabanas, of simple design built with local materials; each one is positioned right on the beach. The bungalow’s are all air-conditioned and have en-suite facilities, along with a phone, radio and satellite TV. Staying 2 nights in a beach fronted bungalow.
The bar is set outside, and plays Cuban music whilst serving delicious cocktails. There is an A La Carte restaurant, which serves typical local dishes as well as international dishes including local lobsters. A grill, boutique and a diving centre complete the facilities. Scuba diving, snorkelling and water sports are available, as there is a fabulous coral reef and good dive sites near by. Cayo Levisa has a peaceful atmosphere, both quiet and tranquil and is set in a lovely location.

Day 6 Return ferry trip back to Palma Ruba, to be collected for a road transfer to Ambos Mundos staying 2 nights.

Day 8 Transfer to Havana Airport for your flight home.
